Nashville’s own Jelly Roll rolled into Hartford, CT to the Webster Theater for an incredible show and incredible supporting acts, StillMatthews and James Garcia who definitely held their own and did not disappoint.

James Garcia brought the energy and excitement to the stage to start things off. When James hit the stage it was definitely “GameTime” as his rhymes flowed with a beat to match the crowd had no choice but to move to the music and match his energy. James played songs from his latest album “Activated” and worked the stage from side to side during his full set.

Still Matthews took the stage and drew in the crowd before Jelly Roll hit the stage and he did an outstanding job. The music was tight, the vocals were tighter and the crowd loved every minute of it. He performed his latest single “12 Steps” and other hit songs including “Rockstar” “How I Cope” and “Gemini Queen”. Still Matthews was no doubt a crowd pleaser and his vocals, lyrics and sound was purely authentic and came from the heart.

You may know Jelly Roll for his hit songs “Save Me”, “Dead Man Walking” and “Son of a Sinner” but Jelly Roll’s catalog is in fact much deeper than that. The lists of songs and albums goes on and on and include such titles as “Creature”, “Bottle and Mary Jane” …in fact, just do yourself a favor and go listen to his albums, “Ballads of the Broken” and “A Beautiful Disaster” to name a couple and you’ll see why he’s a fan favorite.

It’s no surprise Jelly Roll’s success has taken off but maybe the most surprised would be Jelly Roll himself. Jelly Roll is not one to shy away from his past struggles including spending many years in and out of the jail system. Its these struggles that have shaped his music and his lyrics. His authenticity, persistency and passion for music have led him on a journey that seems to resonate with fans who can relate. His audiences are vast and diverse as are his influences, in rap, rock and country and it all seems to have a way to pull everyone together.

Even Jelly Roll will now admit the last year has been a wild ride - selling out the Ryman, Playing the Grand Ole Opry, having their #1 song on the radio. The number one mainstream rock airplay with “Dead Man Walking”. The list goes on including a recently announced home town one night only show at The Bridgestone Arena December 9th, 2022

Jelly Roll did not disappoint the crowd at The Webster Theater. During his stop in Hartford he witnessed a proposal, a sold out crowd and had what he described as, "one of the best experience I've ever had" when he invited a young fan on stage to share the spotlight.
