Review & Photos: Greta Van Fleet at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA 10/5/19

On October 5th Greta Van Fleet were finally back in LA where all the good rock music belongs, on the Sunset Strip. They are a personal favorite of mine to photograph for several reasons, the main ones being their incredible stage presence, pure talent and beautiful lighting (this show was no exception!). The last time I covered the band, I was in Seattle (pre-Grammys) and wanted to use this show as a post-Grammys follow up... needless to say I have not changed my opinion. When I think they cannot top their last show I attended, they do.
Since our last review in January, Greta Van Fleet was nominated for Best New Artist, Best Rock Performance (Highway Tune), and won Best Rock Album at the Grammys. They also had a great performance as guests on Saturday Night Live. While never lacking it in the first place, I do see an increase in confidence on stage following these recent accomplishments which makes not only my job as a photographer exciting, but gives the audience an outstandingly energetic show!

All in all, Greta Van Fleet is a must see band no matter who you are! As a viewer, they bring an old sound, look and energy and make it modern yet still familiar enough for all ages to be drawn to. As a photographer, to put it simply, if you told me I could tour with any band I wanted, Greta Van Fleet would be the first to come to mind.
